Dak Prescott to throw for 4,000+ passing yards (-145)

In each of the last four seasons in which Dak Prescott played at least 16 games, he’s thrown for at least 4,400 yards.

Prescott has the benefit of throwing to two highly talented wide receivers in CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens. Even when Lamb missed three games last season, the passing offense did not skip a beat, with Pickens averaging 119.7 receiving yards per game without Lamb.

Another reason we saw a high volume of passing from Prescott was that the Cowboys’ defense ranked last in points allowed per game (30.1). This meant they were usually playing from behind, and the game script forced Prescott to throw the ball.

Dallas prioritized defense in the draft, using five of its seven picks to select defensive players. However, they didn’t make any significant defensive signings; as a result, there will be a lot of youth starting on defense, which could mean another year where they give up a lot of points.

New Orleans Saints to win the NFC South (+223)

The Saints could be the team to make the biggest leap this year. They finished fourth in the NFC South but ended the season on a high note with wins in four of their final five games.

The offense improved when Tyler Shough took over as quarterback midway through the season. From Weeks 12-18, Shough ranked fifth in passing yards (1,798), fourth among quarterbacks in rushing yards (175), and third among quarterbacks in rushing touchdowns (3).

New Orleans significantly improved the offense in the offseason. They signed former Jaguars running back Travis Etienne, who is coming off his third season with more than 1,000 rushing yards. They also drafted Arizona State wide receiver Jordyn Tyson to play opposite Chris Olave.

The NFC South winner from last year finished 8-9, so the bar is set low. The Saints could be in a position to compete, as some of their division rivals have questions going into the season. Longtime Buccaneers wide receiver Mike Evans left for the 49ers, and there is rumored tension between the team and quarterback Baker Mayfield regarding contract negotiations.

The Falcons have questions at quarterback, as Michael Penix has dealt with injuries early in his career. Atlanta also signed quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, who the Dolphins recently released.

New Orleans has a great chance to go from worst to first.

De’Von Achane to lead the league in rushing yards (+1150)

The Dolphins underwent a major turnover with the departures of head coach Mike McDaniel, quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, and wide receivers Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle, leaving De'Von Achane as the sole remaining offensive standout from last season.

Last year, Achane was the anchor of this offense, finishing fifth in rushing yards with 1,350. He not only led the league with 5.7 yards per carry, but was also the toughest running back to bring down, averaging a league-leading 4.4 yards after contact.

Imagine what he would have done with more volume; now, that chance is coming. The Dolphins have been clear about their plan to give Achane the ball. They retained passing game coordinator Bobby Slowik and promoted him to offensive coordinator. Achane seemed excited to share that Slowik’s scheme includes running the ball more.

Tipping your hand would worry most players, but not someone with Achane’s talent. He has no problem moving the ball when opponents anticipate the run. Last season, he ranked second in the league with 6.5 yards per carry with 8+ players in the box.
